Craig Corrigan bridged a 19-year gap when he won the PGA in Lancs County Championship, sponsored by Miura of Japan, at Heysham.
One of the region's most consistent professionals for more than two decades, who recently moved from Haigh Hall to the nearby Chilli Dip Academy at Blackrod, opened up with a flawless eight-under-par 62 to spread-eagle the field.
He was less consistent in a second round 67, which included four bogeys offset by seven birdies as he claimed the title he last won in 1995 by three shots from Lee Park's Chris Crowder.
Fleetwood's David Corsby was third, seven off the pace as Knott End's Paul Walker retained the senior title.
Meanwhile, the action moves to Royal Lytham & St Annes on Thursday for the county matchplay championship. The morning semi-finals feature Steve Parry (NWGA Hart Common) against Matt Harrison (Formby) and James Barr (Chilli Dip
Academy) faces Hesketh assistant Curtis Dean.
