Daniel Coughlan of Wyke Green won the pro-am at Eaton Golf Club in Norwich with a round of two-under-par 68 that included six birdies.

It was Coughlan’s third pro-am success of the year the others coming at Grims Dyke in August and at Bedford and County in July when he was involved in a triple tie.

The only other player under par was Stuart Brown of Orton Meadows whose round of 69 included three birdies.

Chase Davis of Stapleford Abbotts, a former Norfolk county player, took third place on level par. Ben Kerr of West Suffolk Golf Centre and James Scade of Little Channels were joint fourth at one-over-par.

The players with the best aggregate on the five par-three holes qualified for a shoot-out. There was a 90-yard pitch, a 40-yard bunker shot, a 40 yard chip and run and finally two chances at a 25-foot putt. One player dropped out at each stage.

Ian Ellis (Costessey Park) won the £500 first prize when he sunk his first putt. Chase Davis was runner-up winning £250. Third place went to Mitch Kierstenson of Penfold Park. There was also a shoot-out for amateurs with one attempt at a 90-yard pitch. A set of clubs was won by Eaton member George Morris whose pitch ended two inches from the hole to great applause from the large gallery.

Roger Gray of Thorndon Park led the winning team of Roger Finney, Mike Wilson and Ron Macdonald with a round of 12-under-par 128. Andy Cotton (Ufford Park) was 11-under with John Banks, Roger Toone and Ian Carter.  Sam Cubitt (De Vere Dunston Hall), a former Eaton assistant, together with Harry Judd, Phil Sayers and Tony Cowan were third with 10-under-par.
