County pair contend pro am

28/06/2013

Lincolnshire pair Thomas Rastall and Paul Streeter proved too hot to handle at the Moor Hall Pro Am at Sutton Coldfield’s Moor Hall Golf Club.

Rastall (Sleaford GC) took top spot with his five-under par 65 with county rival Streeter (Lincoln Golf Centre) just one shot behind.

Rastall produced some excellent golf early on and had surged to five-under after 12 holes. A dropped shot at the 14th was rectified two holes to ensure he secured the win.

Streeter finished strongly with back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th but just missed out.

Andrew Willey (Notts GC) finished with a three-under par 67 but had been tying for second place before dropping a shot at the last.

Ian Walley (Kedleston Park GC) was three-under after five, helped by an eagle at the par five 5th, but faded to two-under – one of three golfers to card 68s.

Five others broke par include Craig Shave (Whetstone GC) who had been challenging early on in his round, going four-under after just five holes.
