Matt Cousens (Bushey Golf and Country Club) put together a stylish round of 70 to emerge victorious from the East Anglian Open qualifier at Stapleford Abbotts.
Following on from the first hole-in-one of his professional career last week in a qualifier at East Herts, Cousens compiled a two-under-par round that had him three shots clear of his nearest rivals.
Two birdies and seven pars on the front nine had him ticking over nicely, but his round briefly threatened to come undone with a bogey on 10 and a double bogey at the 12th.
Cousens showed considerable composure, though, in recovering the situation. He strung together three straight birdies from the 14th to lead the 27 qualifiers.
Roger Gray (Thorndon Park) and Sam Teer (Clacton) finished in a tie for second.
The East Anglian Open will take place at Basildon on September 14-15.
