Cranfield set for Golf Show

12/08/2013

The Golf Show 2013, Europe’s leading golf trade show and educational event, has announced PGA Master Professional Scott Cranfield will join a host of headline speakers at this year’s Teaching & Coaching Conference.

Cranfield joins a stellar cast of golf industry experts, including fellow Master Professional Pete Cowen, who will cover the critical issues in coaching to help PGA Professionals enhance their teaching businesses.

The Teaching & Coaching Conference, which was introduced last year, returns by popular demand on the final day of the 2013 event, which takes place at the Harrogate International Centre, October 8-10.

Golf coaching has been the focus of Cranfield’s career for more than 20 years and he has taught at every level of the game from novices to Ryder Cup winners.

His diverse business interests include five Cranfield Golf Academies, which conduct 27,000 lessons per year, a golf centre dedicated to growing the game at grass roots level, plus Carzo Ltd, a golf consultancy and course construction business.

Commenting on his attendance at The Golf Show 2013 Teaching and Coaching Conference, he said: “People have different sets of values and you can’t project one person’s onto another. I will advise conference delegates on how to find the personal inspiration that will drive their businesses forward.

“As a consumer facing role, golf coaches need to be customer-focused. I can offer delegates practical advice on building a business that meets the needs of their customers and ultimately makes them more money.”

David Colclough, PGA head of member education, said: “Besides being a successful teacher of the game himself, Scott has helped countless PGA Professionals develop their own teaching businesses and has at the same time built one of the country’s largest and most successful academy businesses for himself.

“Scott’s session, entitled, How to Build the Business You Dream Of, promises useful insight for all PGA Professionals who are looking to maximise their return on time spent coaching.”
