Jamie Cundy, the former head PGA Professional at Edgbaston Golf Club and director of golf at Direct Golf, Solihull, has taken on a new challenge in the Black Country.

The 45-year-old has been appointed head PGA Professional at Dudley Golf Club - a facility he describes as a ‘sleeping beauty’.

Cundy spent two years at Solihull after 17 at Edgbaston and he is relishing a return to the role of a traditional club pro.

He said: “I’ve missed being a club professional as it has so many varieties of jobs you undertake on a daily basis. Although my passion is coaching, I like looking after golfers as well.

“I will get that opportunity at Dudley, which is a real sleeeping beauty of a course. Everyone familiar with Dudley knows what a great little venue it is and how much potential it has.

“We just need to encourage more golfers to discover it and that’s the sort of challenge I enjoy.”
