Danny Poulter (Heacham Manor) birdied his first five holes on his way to winning the King’s Lynn Pro-Am.
Poulter, brother of Ryder Cup star Ian, delivered heroics of his own in shooting a six-under 66 to beat Paul Streeter (Lincoln Golf Centre) by a shot.
The success was, of course, based on that amazing start in which he made three at the opening four holes before a two at the short fifth put him into a very strong early position.
Poulter registered his next birdie at the tenth and made it to seven-under through 13 before a sole dropped stroke at the next.
Streeter made a bold late bid to draw level at the top, getting to five-under with five holes to play. But he could only close out with a series of pars leaving Poulter victorious.
Streeter did, though, led the successful team in the pro-am. His quartet finished on 127 - five clear.
