Professional Daniel Wood, from The Hirsel Golf Club, Coldstream in Berwickshire, staged a grandstand finish to return the best scratch score of four-under-par 64 at this week's Edinburgh and East of Scotland Alliance fixture over the Dalmahoy West Course, Edinburgh.
Wood finished in fading light with five consecutive threes to head a field of 101, of whom 15 managed to match par or better.
Cardrona pro Stephen Lamb had been the long-time clubhouse leader with a 65 until demoted to second place by Wood's superlative finish.
There was a three-way tie for third place on 66 between Uphall professional Gordon Law and amateurs Richard Johnston (Glenbervie) and George Wither (Lothianburn).
Top assistant professional was Louis Gaughan (Bathgate) with a 67.
