Former PGA Professional Champion Dan Greenwood stamped his pedigree on proceedings to help fire Lincolnshire into the final of the PGA England and Wales Inter-County Championship.

The Forest Pines pro shrugged off a bogey start at the Nuneaton qualifier to card a three under par 68 which catapulted his county team of Adam Keogh (Spalding Golf Club) and Scott Emery (Woodhall Spa) into the £10,000 final over the Belfry’s PGA National Course on October 13-14.

With the two best scores from three counting, Keogh’s level-par 71 gave Lincolnshire a three under 139 total – one stroke ahead of Warwickshire with Nottinghamshire third on 143.

The experienced Greenwood bounced back from his dropped shot on the first with birdies at the second, eighth, 15th and 18th while Keogh, who recently finished sixth in the Galvin Green PGA Assistants’ Championship at Coventry, had one birdie on the 10th cancelled out by a bogey on 14.

Lincolnshire will face four other counties in the grand final at the famous Ryder Cup venue.

Yorkshire won the title last year while Suffolk won the inaugural staging of the event in 2013.
