Powerade champion Gareth Davies brought the curtain down on his Australian adventure with a final round 75 to finished tied seventh in the PGA of Australia National Futures event.
The Yorkshireman, a member of the three-man side that lifted the SkyCaddie PGA England & Wales Inter-County Championship last week, finished on 11-over-par for the tournament at Ballarat Golf Club, which encountered testing conditions throughout the week.
Davies, who qualified for the event on the back of his PGA Assistant’s Championship win at Coventry in the summer opened, with rounds of 73 and 71, but a brutal third day 80, played him out title contention.
But he bounced back with his 75 – none of the top 10 finishers broke par – to secure another top 10 finish in a long list of Powerade PGA Assistants’ champions.
Reflecting on the experience, Davies said: "Everyone here has been fantastic. A local family have taken me around Ballarat and up to Sovereign Hill, so I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here."
