Chase Davis (Marriott Sprowston Manor Hotel) edged European Challenge Tour player Will Harrold by one in the inaugural Great Yarmouth & Caister Pro-Am.
Norfolk’s Davis began his year well with victory at the East’s Qualifying School at Essex Golf & Country Club. He since finished second to European Tour star Simon Khan in the London Open – beaten only in a play-off at the Order of Merit event.
But this was his first pro-am success of the season and came after a four-under-par 66. He began on the 11th hole and raced to three-under after an early birdie and an eagle at his fifth.
Davis was as low as five-under after 11 holes before eventually having to settle for a stroke fewer.
Harrold, also from Norfolk, clocked up four birdies and a solitary bogey in his 67. Mark Talbott (Thorpe Hall) took sole possession of third spot, thanks to a 68 that included an eagle on the par-4 sixth hole.
Tom Kirtley (American Golf) was in charge of the victorious team whose tally of 121 was one better than the quartet including Mark Stokes (Rayleigh Golf Range).
