Dick's magnificent seven-under

Dick's magnificent seven-under

09/01/2020

Gloucester Golf Centre’s Jamie Dick produced a blistering front-nine on the Minchinhampton Old Course to lay the foundations for victory in the first Total Triumph Order of Merit event of the new year.

Dick recorded birdies at the second, third, fourth, eighth and ninth holes to reach the turn in five-under.

His negotiation of the back nine was less spectacular but birdies at 12, 14 and 17 tempered by a bogey at 16 resulted in a seven-under-par round of 64.

All of which left him a shot clear of playing partner, Brickhampton Court’s Ross Langdon, and former European Tour member Mark Plummer of Cirencester.

Their six-under-par rounds of 65 saw them finish three shots ahead of Martin Dewhurst, Cirencester’s Ed Goodwin, Burnham & Berrow amateur Ollie Brimfield and Isle of Wedmore PGA Assistant Lee Corfield.

In finishing tied fourth, Corfield extended his lead in the Order of Merit and is close on 50 points clear of his closest pursuer, Filton Golf Club’s Giuseppe Licata.
