John Dignam (Slade Valley) and Eamonn Brady (Clontarf) carded two under par rounds of 68 to share first place at the Seafield Golf and Country Club Pro-Am.

Gusting winds made life difficult for the professionals on the Peter McEvoy designed course near Gorey, Co Wexford with just three players breaking par.

In form Brady, who finished tied for third at the recent K Club Pro-Am, went to the turn in one under 34, with birdies at the second, seventh and eighth offset by dropped shots at the first and fourth.

He started his back nine with a birdie at the par five 10th but immediately gave that shot back again at the tough par three 11th.

Brady picked up another birdie at the 13th, dropped a shot at the 16th and closed out his back nine with a birdie at 18 to sign for his 68.

Dignam, who began his round at the 10th, made a blistering start with birdies at the 10th, 11th and 12th. He dropped a shot at the par four 14th but still went to the turn in two under 33.

Like Brady, he dropped a shot at the first, but bounced back with a birdie double at the second and third. He dropped another shot at the sixth, birdied the par four seventh and dropped a shot at the eighth to come home in level par 35.

Wexford's Liam Bowler finished one shot back on one under par and will rue double bogeys at the 14th and 17th.

Co Louth professional, Glen Robinson, guided his team, including Seafield GC lady captain, Nuala Noone, to victory in the team event with 89 points.
