Former PGA Cup winner Richard Dinsdale can earn another chance to represent Great Britain & Ireland if he claims a top three finish in the Titleist PGA Play-Offs in Turkey.
The Parc Golf Academy PGA Professional is set to make his second consecutive appearance in the £15,000 showpiece at Antalya Golf Club from November 29 - December 1.
Dinsdale was part of the victorious 2005 PGA Cup team at The K Club which reclaimed the trophy from the United States after a 21 year stretch. It’s the last time GB&I tasted victory and he will be eager to secure a place in Jon Bevan’s team to play America in CordeValle, California next September.
Also up for grabs for the leading ten finishers is a place alongside some of golf’s biggest names in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth next May.
Last time out Dinsdale’s 16th place finish over PGA Sultan Course meant he missed out on the chance to make a second appearance in the European Tour’s flagship event. He last appeared in the BMW PGA Championship in 2011.
But he will return full of confidence after an impressive year in the region during which he claimed third place in the Order of Merit.
The Welshman will be one of four players representing The PGA in England and Wales (South West).
He will be joined by PGA (South West) No.1 Michael Watson (Wessex), former European Tour player David Dixon (Enmore Park) and St Kew’s Richard O’Hanlon.
O’Hanlon will also be making his second consecutive trip to Antalya after travelling to Turkey for the PGA Pro-Captain Challenge final last year.
The Cornwall-based pro will board the plane in high spirits after he led St Kew amateur Andy Jones to victory in the PGA National Pro-Am final at Gleneagles in September.
Titleist brand director, Matthew Johnson, commented: “Titleist strives to support golf in all aspects of the game and our partnership with The PGA and the PGA Play-Offs offers a fantastic platform to strengthen our ties with all PGA Professionals.
"We take great pride in validating the #1 ball in golf, used by the best players in the world from touring professionals through to PGA Professionals and elite amateurs, which in turn influences golfers of all abilities to put their trust in the #1 ball in golf to help them shoot their best scores.
“The PGA Play-Offs is a unique event in bringing the leading PGA pros together to compete for an opportunity to tee up at some of the European Tour’s biggest events including the flagship BMW PGA Championship and we look forward to seeing an exciting conclusion to the season."
