Marc Dodd returned to The Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club to secure his first PGA in England (East) pro-am victory.
Dodd, a trainee at The Burstead, was a scratch team player at The Hertfordshire back in his early 20s.
It’s a course that clearly suits his game as he also landed his maiden professional win there in a winter pro-am event three years ago.
Now Dodd, 29, has claimed a breakthrough East region success at the venue, thanks to a two-under-par 68.
He packed six birdies into his round, finishing a stroke ahead of James Jankowski (JJ Golf), James Taverner (Hendon) and Chris Cutchie (Colchester).
Dodd said: “It was nice to get a round going and I just played solid. endon) and Chris Cutch
“I like the Hertfordshire. It is a bit of favourite for me – I’ve always played well round there.”
Ben Kerr (Bourn Golf & Leisure) led the winning team on a score of 121 points – three clear of the quartet skipped by Dodd.
