East Devon’s Kevin Harper achieved back-to-back wins on the Devon PGA summer pro-am circuit.
He made six birdies in a three-under-par 67 at Downes Crediton for a one-shot win over last year’s winner Tom Jessamine (Exeter), who also landed six birdies.
Will Farley (Bovey Castle) and his team S Laister, T Whiteway and M Mytton won the pro-am with 16-under-par 88 points.
Harper’s trio of home members Mike Delling, Matt Dyne and Peter Lawrence were one shot behind.
Then Harper shot two-under 66 at Okehampton to share top spot with Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge). He missed the chance of outright victory by finishing with two bogeys. Richard Woods (Dainton Park) and Richard O’Hanlon (St Kew) shared third on 67.
David Cockayne and his Tiverton team won the pro-am with 87 points, three ahead of Nick Williams (St Enodoc) with Woods one shot further back in third.
China Fleet’s James Ruth took a break from the Europro Tour to make good use of calm and soft conditions at Woodbury Park to win the MJ Baker Celeb Pro Am.
He made seven birdies and an eagle on the 14th in a seven-under- par 66 in the annual event which this year raised money for former England cricketer Marcus Trescothick’s chosen charity, Childrens’ Hospice South West.
Michael Watson (Wessex Golf Centre), Ryan Pope (Exeter) and Richard O’Hanlon (St Kew) were two shots off the pace in second. Pope’s team won the pro-am on 91points, one better than Harper’s trio.
