Double joy for Dan

Dan Wood (Ivy Leaf) enjoyed a great day in the Cornwall Professional Golfers Alliance meeting attended by 67 members at Tehidy Park.

He won both the pairs and the individual professional award with a two-under-par round 69 for 38 points, one better than Chris Gill (Newquay).

Paul Turpin (Carlyon Bay) was third on 36, three better than Richard Sadler (Killiow), Ben Pill (Truro) and Grant Slater (Trevose).

Wood with amateur partner Dale Howarth from Ivy Leaf returned 44 points, two shots better than Truro amateurs Jake Finn and Spike Drew who pipped Alliance captain Paul Turpin and Will Sumner (Carlyon Bay) on countback.

Gill and Carl White (Newquay) carded 41 while Scott Richards (Truro) and Dave Lawton (Perranporth) shot 39.
