Alastair Forsyth (Mearns Castle Golf Academy) maintained his recent outstanding form by winning the Pollok Golf Club pro-am today with a 10-under-par round of 61 which earned him £875. His round included eight birdies at the second, fifth, sixth, eighth, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th with an eagle three at the par-five 7th.
He finished five strokes ahead of runner-up Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) who earned £700 for his 66.
Forsyth's round equalled the course record of 61 set by McKechnie in 2007.
There was a three-way tie for third place - £413 each - on 67, featuring Paul O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure), Gareth Wright (West Linton) and David Orr (Eastwood).
Forsyth scored a double whammy by leading the Ravenstone amateur trio of Jerry Brown (handicap 17), Craig Collins (15) and Graham Lochart (11) to victory by four shots with a net total of 122 in the team event.
