Duo take Foursomes Award

Katie Rule (Mullion) and Sarah Smith (Saffron Walden) combined to great effect to win the Vivien Saunders WPGA Foursomes Award at The Berkshire.

The pair carded a seven over par 79 including birdies at the third and 16^th to take a one stroke victory over two teams in joint second

Host pro Catherine Panton-Lewis was among the pairs in runners up spot with her partner Claire Duffy from Test Valley.

Kington’s Sarah Walton and Brookdale’s Karen Heywood made a strong start with an eagle on the 425-yard par 5 fourth hole and had a birdie on the 11^th but a double bogey on the 17^th proved costly.
