Duo tie for victory at Bothwell Castle

Scott Henderson (Kings Links) and Gareth Wright (West Linton) tied for first place in the Bothwell Castle pro-am with three-under-par rounds of 67.

It was Henderson's second win of the season and Wright's third. They earned £1,147 each.

Henderson (above) overcame a double bogey five at the short seventh with birdies at the first, second, sixth, 14th, 15th and 18th, coming home in only 31 strokes.

Wright had an eagle three at the first but bogeyed the third and sixth and had to birdie the seventh, 12th, 17th and 18th (home in 32) to finish level with the Aberdonian.

They finished a shot ahead of Paul O'Hara (Clydeway Golf), Craig Ronald (Carluke) and Greg McBain (Newmachar) who each earned £599.

Chris McMaster (Wellsgreen) led the Rowan Timber amateur trio of Nick Higgins (hanidcap 18), Robert Williams (6) and Mark Williams (14) to victory in the pro-am team event with a net score of 15-under-par 55.
