Portsmouth Golf Centre’s Rob Edwards, the 1994 PGA South Order of Merit champion, and Manston’s Keely Chiericato topped the overall billing after winning their events in the Virgin Atlantic PGA South Order of Merit Qualifying School 2018.
Edwards had the lowest round in the third of three Q School events with an excellent five-under par 67 at Kingswood.
Chiericato showed the boys a thing or two when the WPGA Professional produced a winning two-under-par 68 at Mid Kent. Back in mid-March at Sand Martins, Lewis Atkinson (Gerrards Cross) and Michael Bullen (Rustington) shared top honours with a pair of one-under-par 69s.
After the eagerly awaited draw this week for the Keith MacDonald PGA South Match Play, everyone’s eyes will then be on the first of the five scheduled Order of Merit stroke play tournaments, the PGA Southern Open Championship at Cooden Beach in June.
The other Virgin Atlantic PGA South Order of Merit events are the PGA Surrey Open at Cuddington in July, PGA Kent Open at Prince’s in August, CK Group PGA Southern Professional Championship at Kings Hill in September and the PGA Farnham Finale at Farnham in October.
Entries for all events are still open to all PGA South Professionals and Trainees via BlueGolf or through The PGA in England (South) Office.
