The Norfolk duo finished two points clear of David Salisbury (Three Rivers) and Stuart Brown (Thorpe Wood) in the individual Stableford event.

Ellis birdied three of the final five holes – including the last – to book his place at the summit. Ellis had six birdies in total on a day when his putter blew hot.

He has now won – or tied at the top – in no less than five East Region pro-ams this season, including two this month. Ellis will approach the final two Order of Merit events in confident mood, starting at Basildon on September 14.

Fellow winner Davis was equally effective at Hampstead, if a little less mercurial. He had four birdies in his round in registering his second East Region pro-am success this season.
