Due to unprecedented demand additional places have been made available for the 888.com PGA Europro Tour qualifying schools.

A record number of entries ensured all four venues were full ahead of this Wednesday’s deadline, however, the field sizes will be increased across the four venues enabling more players the opportunity to compete for a place on Europe’s leading developmental tour.

The four qualifying venues are The Players Club in Bristol, Woldingham Golf Club in Surrey, Formby Hall in Southport and De Vere Slaley Hall (above) in Northumberland. Competitors will now play on the Hunting Course rather than the Priestman which has been affected by the wet weather.

First stage dates are March 26-27, with the 54-hole final qualifying tournament at Frilford Heath, Oxfordshire, teeing off on April 2.

A total of 240 players will be in the field next month aiming to claim a card to compete on the main tour, which is the best ever in the history the PGA Europro Tour.

The tour, which has 16 events and prize money in excess of £600,000, will visit some of the UK and Ireland’s most iconic venues beginning with four-time Ryder Cup host The Brabazon at the venue.

On offer to the most successful players over the course of 2014 is a gateway to the European Challenge Tour – and ultimately the European Tour. Last year’s Europro No 1 Oliver Farr teed off his Challenge Tour campaign on Thursday.
