Enville brings out the best

Danny Taylor took the spoils in the latest Staffs PGA Winter Alliance fixture at Enville.

The Robert Rock Academy pro finished the hotly-contested event with 40 points (-4) on a day when only six points separated the top seven players.

Among those in the chasing pack were second placed Mark Butler (Penn GC) who finished on 39 points, and Brocton Hall’s Mark Howe, who finished third on 38 points – one ahead of his head pro Nevill Bland.

The team competition also went to the wire. The winning team of Dan Hewitt (Trentham GC) and amateurs N Davenport, E Burge and T Hewitt taking the honours courtesy of a solid last three holes on the back nine.

That left them clear of Taylor's second placed Robert Rock Academy team, comprised of Mike Ankers, Ian Birch and John Clark.
