Luke Howe’s putter matched the scorching temperatures as he carded seven birdies on the way to a five-under-par 67 at Enville.
With 53 teams taking part it was the season's biggest PGA Midlands pro-am to date, attracting the region’s leading golfers.
But it was Brocton Hall's Howe who took the spoils building on a consistent season which has seen him claim six top 10 finishes.
His five under par total proved enough for a two shot win over travelling golfer Richard O'Hanlon from St Kew GC in Cornwall.
A regular visitor to the region, O'Hanlon won at Enville last year and came close to repeating the feat again, but took a decisive blow with a double bogey at the 12th and despite finishing strongly with three birdies had to settle for a three under par 69.
In joint third following two under par 70's were James Whately (Morley Hayes), Joe Smoothy (Forest of Arden) and John-Paul Banbury (Moor Hall).
The team event produced a home win for the fourball named R.T.Bearings, led by Richard Copsey (Enville) with a team total of 128 points, giving them a two shot margin of victory.
