The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour makes an exciting return to Ireland this week for the Great National Hotels Irish Masters at Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel, May 10-12.
The tournament is the EuroPro’s first in Ireland since 2015 and will bring some of Europe’s best young players to Tipperary.
There will be plenty of Irish interest in the tournament. Damien McGrane brings European Tour experience to the field while 2015 Irish Amateur Champion and Walker Cup star Gavin Moynihan made a winning start to the EuroPro season at Close House in Newcastle last month.
Colm Moriarty, Michael McGeady and Tim Rice are Irish players who are well accustomed to the EuroPro Tour while the likes of Dermot McElroy and Jonathan Caldwell will be representing Northern Ireland.
The Des Smyth designed course at Ballykisteen Golf Hotel is set only minutes from Limerick Junction in tree-sculptured surroundings against a backdrop of the Galtee Mountains. Constructed and maintained to the highest standards, the course is distinguished by the superb quality of the putting surfaces.
Pat Barrett, Golf Manager at Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel: "It's an exciting time for the Hotel. The event gives us a great opportunity to build on the momentum of the last couple of years and again to showcase our wonderful course and facilities we have available for members, guests and our corporate partners.”
Spectator entry to the Great National Hotels Irish Masters is free throughout the tournament and live scoring will be available at www.europrotour.com.
A two-hour highlights package will be broadcast on Sky Sports on Tuesday, May 23 and on networks around the world.
