Experienced campaigners win Winter Fourball

Robert Arnott (Bishopbriggs Golf Range) and Jason McCreadie (Largs) joined forces to win a keenly-contested PGA in Scotland Winter Fourball Series event at Troon Portland.

On a beautiful day on the Ayrshire coast, the experienced duo carded a 12-under-par 60 to finish a shot ahead of four other pairings in an event that attracted 27 teams in total.

Paul O'Hara, last season's Tartan Tour Order of Merit winner, was in one the pairings pipped for top spot, the North Lanarkshire Leisure-attached player teaming up with Kilmacolm's Michael Patterson.

An all-Braid Hills Golf Range partnership of former Scottish PGA champion Ian Young and Paul McKechnie also shot 61, as did Clydeway Golf duo Stuart Williamson and Bryan Wharton and also Anthony O'Donnell (Largs) and Stephen Wilson (Dundonald Links).

The next event in the Winter Fourball Series is at Kingsbarns on April 2 before concluding at Aberdour on April 10.
