James Ruth maintained his electrifying form in Cornwall immediately after winning the PGA Titleist-FootJoy Sprint leg with an eight-under par round at Cumberwell Park.
Another eight-under round at Falmouth brought a three-shot success in the Cornwall Professional Golfers’ Alliance at Falmouth on a warm and sunny day which was reflected by some great scoring.
Not surprisingly the China Fleet assistant professional won the fourball with Matt Tamsett, an amateur at the Saltash club. They scored an Alliance record 50 points.
This left St Kew pair Richard O'Hanlon and amateur Scott Chandler six shots behind.
Killiow professional Richard Sadler (Killiow) and Will Sumner (Carlyon Bay) took third on countback. The Scott Richards/Darrah Dunleavy (Truro) and Grant Slater/Dave Holland (Falmouth) pairings also returned 43 points.
In the individual professional event Ruth, whose tally was 44 points in the stableford format, finished three clear of Sadler while Slater returned 39. Max Billingsley (St Kew) shot 37 and Alliance captain Chris Gill (Newquay) 35.
