PGA Excel offers PGA Members the opportunity to showcase their impact and achievement, boosting their professional value in the process. By achieving these new designations, Members gain recognition that helps propel their careers forward and demonstrate their expertise to both employers and the wider golf industry.

Anders Mankert becomes the 65th PGA Member to achieve Master status. He said: “It’s an unbelievable feeling – one that hasn’t quite sunk in yet. To be recognised as a Master Professional by your peers and The PGA is very special.

"As I look down the list of Master Professionals, there’s plenty of my own idols in there so it’s a tremendous honour to be part of those elite names.

“I would absolutely advise anyone to start their journey. I would start by documenting everything, whether it’s your achievements or attracting new members to your facility. Once you have it written down, it’s quite surprising how much you’ve accomplished. Separation is now key within the golf industry, and new designations show an above-and-beyond skillset.”

Jordan Massey, Specialist Putting Coach at Torque Golf, who achieved Fellow status, also shared his journey. “I am really pleased to receive Fellow status, I put a lot of time into improving as a PGA Professional and as a putting coach and this is a great reward for the hard work,” he said.

“From CPD accreditation to the self-assessment and beyond, the process has never been simpler, especially with so many resources now available through PGA Learn. Once you start, you’ll become obsessed with learning, as I did, particularly within my field of putting.

“I’d advise anyone looking to progress to look at those you aspire to be like and learn from them. Most likely, they’ve advanced through the PGA Excel framework.”

For many PGA Members, the winter months offer an ideal opportunity to start their PGA Excel journey, whether it's earning CPD accreditation or completing the self-assessment. With the online process now simpler than ever, the quieter period allows for undivided focus, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail, which are key to a successful PGA Excel application.

Commenting on the fourth batch of awards for 2025, Tristan Crew, Executive Director – Membership said: “Congratulations to the 10 PGA Members who have earned their new designation, a testament to their unwavering commitment, hard work, and dedication to professional growth within the industry.

“As an Association, we take great pride in seeing more Members embark on PGA Excel, and we encourage others to seize the quieter months of the year to invest in their own journey. PGA Excel allows you to demonstrate your impact and achievement and as a consequence enhances your reputation and that of the facility in which you operate."

Mark Roberts, Director of Golf at Queenwood Golf Club, who achieved Advanced Fellow status, echoes this sentiment whilst sharing his perspective on the value of PGA Excel. “I’m continually proud to be a part of The PGA. To be recognised and awarded for the time spent within the industry is a great feeling and I'm grateful to those whom I have worked with who have both mentored and helped shaped me,” he said.

“I’ve always felt it’s important to learn and develop, not just to compete with peers, but to bring more value to my role, my club, and the members I serve."

He continued, "As an employer myself, when looking for new staff to join the team, I will be swayed by someone who has any recognition by The PGA, including PGA Excel. It shows a good work ethic, approach to their role and their outlook on learning and continuous development. To recognise this as a PGA Member puts you in a great position to make a positive impact on the game."

As we enter a new year, now is the perfect time to consider your own professional growth. The PGA Excel framework offers a clear path for Members to distinguish themselves in the industry and build upon their skills. Whether you are looking to earn CPD accreditation or pursue a new designation, the quieter months offer the ideal opportunity to invest in your development and take your career to the next level.
