Blackwood assistant Ciarán Molloy climbed to the top of the leaderboard at Seapoint with a battling birdie four at the last hole to snatch victory in the third round of the Etihad PGA Sprint series.
Ardee man Molloy, a silver medallist as leading qualifier in the North of Ireland Amateur Open Championship, had just seven pars on his yo-yo card that included another birdie four at the sixth hole and an eagle three at the 10th.
The winner was three-under after the sixth, as he had also clipped a shot off the short second and par four fifth holes, but he stumbled at the short ninth to turn in two-under-par 34. His eagle at the cross-wind 10th, created with a low iron into the green, and a birdie three at 11 left him five-under but the wheels came off his rolling roll.
A hat-trick of bogey fives from the 12th hole brought Molloy back to reality and he lost another shot at the short 17th before he rescued his run with that finishing birdie four, at the last, to snatch victory.
