Michael Watson went on a birdie blitz as he cruised to a three-shot win by carding six-under-par 61 at Torquay on the South Devon coast.
The Wessex Golf Centre player from Weymouth returned halves of 31 and 30 for his fourth win of the season. He made four birdie threes on the way out and dropped a shot on the seventh.
Although he made another bogey on the 15th he finished with eight birdies, the final two coming on the 16th and 17th holes, as he added to victories at Sherborne, Vivary Park and Sherborne.
Chris Gill has been enjoying great success as he plays more frequently. The Newquay club professional made his sixth birdie on the final hole after landing an eagle on the 16th.
This final flourish propelled him into second spot and also helped his team to success on countback. Former professional Lester Barnes, Owen Williams and Adam Welton were grateful for his contribution.
They pipped William Nolan Farley (Bovey Castle Hotel),Richard Crook Jason Brooks and Mark Giffard with Jon Bevan (Sherborne), assisted by Jeff Hewett, Chris Lang and Graham King, a further shot back in third.
Home assistant James Urquhart enjoyed his best return in his first season as a professional. Local knowledge and four birdies helped him share third on 65. Experienced Kevin Harper (East Devon) and new West Region champion Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge) joined him.
