Adam Frayne (Yelverton) outclassed the field with a four-shot win in the Downes Crediton pro-am for his fourth win of the year.
The former Europro Tour player won the Devon PGA medal at Teignmouth in February and two Assistants and Under-30 Pros Sprint Order of Merit events at The Players Club and Weston-super-Mare, eventually scooping the bonus pool as well.
Frayne returned an impressive five-under-par 65 containing six birdies at the fourth, fifth, ninth, tenth, 12th and 16th, shedding his only shot at the eighth.
Home professional Barry Austin shared second with Kevin Harper (Sidmouth ) and Paul Turpin (Carlyon Bay) on 69. Club pros Ian Marshall (Plymouth Golf Centre) and Gary Milne (Exeter Golf & Country Club) were joint fifth on level par 70.
Turpin’s trio won the team award on 15-under-par 125, beating four teams by six shots. Phil Brookes (The Point at Polzeath) was second on countback with Austin’s home team third.
