Shane Rose and Mike Gallagher were the big winners in The PGA in Northamptonshire’s inaugural annual awards ceremony at Kingsthorpe.
The duo took the top honours at the occasion, which was held during the county’s annual general meeting.
Cold Ashby’s Rose won the Coach of the Year Award for his contribution to the county's squad and his work with elite players such as rising star Ryan Evans.
“It's a great honour to be recognised with an award such as this,” he said. “I've been very fortunate to work with a number of very talented Northants players who have achieved great success over the last few years, as a county we will continue to strive for more.”
Gallagher won the 'Outstanding Contribution to Golf' award for his long term commitment to the county which stretches all the way back to 1968.
The Farthingstone pro has always worked in the county, serving on the Northamptonshire PGA committee since the mid-seventies, and has made a huge contribution to coaching and retail in the county.
“I honestly didn't know anything about the award,” he explained. “I just go around and do my job, and to be recognised for that by my peers is very nice.”
