Gavin makes Hay while sun shines at Turriff

Gavin Hay (Nairn Dunbar) returned to form in today's Turriff pro-am with a seven-under-par 63 to finish two shots clear of a field which included Paul Lawrie.

Hay had two shots to spare over five players who hit the 65 mark - Scott Henderson (Kings Links) 33-32, Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) 31-34, Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) 32-33, Chris Kelly (unatt) 33-32 and Paul Lawrie (Carnegie Club) 34-31.

Gavin certainly made hay while the sun shone at Turriff. He had a bag of nine birdies - at the third, fifth, sixth, eighth, 11^th, 12^th, 14^th, 16^th and 18^th with two bogeys, at the 10^th and 15^th in halves of 32 (four-under) and 31 (three-under).
