A major digital marketing campaign, run through the PGA supported Get into golf scheme, is set to get more people golfing.

Already highly successful, Get into golf is designed to inspire adults in England to take up the sport and play more often.

The programme is now stepping up its marketing with a digital campaign running from April to July.

“This is the first national advertising campaign designed to attract thousands more people into the sport,” says David Joy, CEO of England Golf

“We are expecting it to reach hundreds of thousands of people with a surge in awareness of the sport and the campaign - all building on the already highly successful Get into golf programme,”

The digital advertising will bring potential new players to the Get into golf website where they can find out about golfing opportunities near them through an activity finder as well as book online.

To ensure there is plenty on offer for potential newcomers, golf clubs and PGA Professional can now add their own activities and take advantage of the national marketing drive to grow their own business.

Nick Arter, PGA Professional from Play Golf Colchester, says: “I can highly recommend this. The Get into golf website is making the sport easier to access and book. It also takes away any apprehension and helps take the stuffy image out of golf.

“It’s a great opportunity for golf clubs and PGA Professionals to take advantage of increased awareness and promote their own businesses. You can easily add local activities to the Get into golf site and these can then be accessed through an online booking system.”

Ryder Cup hero Justin Rose is backing Get into golf, adding: “This is just what golf needs. It is fantastic that more people will have access to the sport.”
