A long-standing privilege of PGA Membership has been access to golf course courtesy. Ultimately, access to this benefit is dependent on the “grace and favour” of the hosting facility, however outlined below is a section from The PGA regulations illustrating the responsibility of the Member in securing this privilege:
If a PGA Members wishes to play a courtesy round at another golf facility, they must:
Please remember golf course courtesy is only extended to PGA Members, therefore any other guests should pay the usual course visitor fees.
Failure to comply with the regulations could lead to a disciplinary action. If PGA Members do not follow the code of conduct, The PGA recommends the host professional should deny the Member courtesy and inform The PGA.
Tristan Crew, PGA Executive Director – Member Services, commented: “Having received a few complaints recently about Members not complying with the PGA course courtesy regulations, we want to remind PGA Members of their responsibilities when planning visits to other courses in the UK.
“We are very keen to highlight the need to follow the regulations outlined above so Members can continue to enjoy this valuable benefit into the future.”
