The Golf Show 2014 has announced the final agenda for the Teaching & Coaching Conference (TCC) including headline speaker, world-renowned short game coach, Dave Pelz.
In a first for Europe’s largest golf trade and education event, the keynote speaker will take the floor twice as Pelz discusses The Amazing Truth About Putting and later, Fundamentals Of Wedge Play, in association with Cleveland Golf and Srixon.
Taking place at Harrogate International Centre (HIC), Yorkshire, on October 7-9, the final day’s TCC includes seminars and speakers on a range of topics aimed at helping PGA Professionals enhance their teaching businesses.
Pelz’s first session is followed by Making Technology Pay, hosted by Andy Traynor from Chingford GC, Martin Heggie from Moortown GC, and Matthew Gillingham from The Wilmslow GC. They will be presenting case studies demonstrating how they have integrated technology effectively into their own coaching businesses to increase customer engagement and revenue.
Jane Booth, head of coaching systems at The PGA, and Paul Rhodes, director of research at Sky Blue, will follow, presenting a study entitled The Value of Great Coaches, looking at the skills, behaviours and attitudes that make the best teachers.
This seminar will conclude with a question and answer session featuring PGA professionals considered ‘Great Coaches’ from the four home nations – England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales – who are able to offer practical advice based on their own successes in the teaching business.
Finally, before Pelz closes the show with his Fundamentals of Wedge Play, there will be an opportunity for attendees to ask golf’s leading short game authority the questions they want answering. These may be submitted on Twitter beforehand using the hashtag #AskPelz.
David Colclough, PGA head of member education, said: “Dave Pelz is one of the most revered coaches in golf and his views on the short game have been adopted the world over.
“We know that nobody understands the challenges facing PGA professionals as much as PGA professionals, which is why we’ve invited a selection with outstanding coaching businesses to share their experiences and expertise.
“The insight on offer from all our speakers will give every Teaching and Coaching Conference attendee valuable food for thought for their own businesses.”
As part of Cleveland Golf and Srixon’s commitment to The Golf Show 2014, all TCC attendees will receive a dozen free Srixon golf balls at the end of the event.
