Sian Evans kept her momentum going with a dominant victory in the WPGA One Day Series third round a Three Rivers Golf Club.
The Kings Hill Golf Club player has already reached the PGA Assistants’ Championship final for the second year running.
And she did not drop a shot on her way to an impressive five under par round of 69 at the Essex venue.
Evans won by three shots ahead of Keely Chiericato, of Manston Golf Centre in Ramsgate, who was playing just days after winning the Women’s PGA Championship at Trentham Golf Club.
It was the Kent player’s first appearance in the competition this season as part of a packed calendar.
And she was delighted with her winning performance.
“It’s been a while since I had a bogey-free round so I’m really pleased about that,” said Evans.
“And a score of five under par was quite nice too. It was good to play in decent conditions as well, last year it was almost rained out.
“I intend to play all the One Day Series events in the south, I always play three rounds, this one, Chestfield and South Herts. This was my first appearance in the competition this year, and now I’m looking forwards to the next ones.
“But I also play in a lot of the mens’ events too so sometimes there are clashes.
“I’ve been playing well, but just waiting for a low score.”
Evans says her game has been given a confidence boost by a new putter.
“I got one fitted for me, so I was hoping things would turn and I’d be putting a bit better,” she added.
“It’s good to know you’ve got the right thing in the bag and that makes you feel more confident. So that’s played a part as well.”
