Late finisher Graham Fox swooped with an excellent four-under-par round of 66 to snatch the £1,140 first prize away from clubhouse leaders Graeme Brown (Montrose Links) and Greg McBain (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) at the Panmure Golf Club pro-am.

Brown and McBain had posted matching rounds of 68 sometime earlier, Brown after an eagle three at the long second and McBain with the help of four birdies over the first six holes.

But Fox also had a flying start with birdies at the first, second, third and sixth on his way to an outward three-under 32 after he bogeyed the ninth.

Another bogey popped up at the 12th before the Clydeway Golf man got back in the groove with his fifth and sixth birdies at the 13th and 16th for 34 home.

Discounting Fox's seven wins earlier in the year in the PGA in Scotland's better-ball series, this was his fifth win in individual events this season.

Scott Henderson (Kings Links), one of seven players who earned £317 each for joint fourth place on 69, also led home the Petroleum Pipe Middle East Team Three trio of amateurs, Chris Masson (handicap 6), David Templeton (4) and Martin Thomson (13) to victory in the team event with a 15-under-par net total of 125.
