Alison Gray, winner of the first two Glenmuir Women's PGA Professional Championships, will be aiming to add a third title to her name when she tees up at Blairgowrie from August 7-8.
The Ormskirk PGA pro is among an eight strong field competing for the coveted title and Scotland is a happy hunting ground for the 41 year old who landed her maiden title at St Andrews Bay in 2003.
Gray though will face stiff competition from a past winners including three time champion Tracy Loveys (Bigbury) who won a hat-trick of titles from 2008.
Catherine Panton-Lewis, daughter of legendary Scottish golfer John Panton and winner of the 2007 tournament at Royal Porthcawl, is a late entrant following the withdrawal of last year’s champion Lucy Williams.
One player relishing the 36-hole event, which carries a first prize of £1,000, is Suzanne Dickens who topped the qualifier at Little Aston.
The Thorpe Wood pro suffered a bout of sickness during the showpiece event at De Vere Slaley Hall last year which saw her hopes of victory disappear.
