Norfolk PGA held their second May pro-am at Royal Norwich which saw success for Jason Groat of Denver Golf Centre near Downham Market.
His round of two under par 70 was two better than former Royal Norwich player Ian Ellis, who is now at Costessey Park, Michael Few (Weston Park) and David Woolley (Middleton Hall). Neil Lythgoe of Royal Norwich took fifth place with his round of 73.
Norfolk PGA will be represented by Few, Groat and Woolley in the PGA National Team Championship which has a regional qualifier at Nazeing in August before the final at The Belfry in October.
Joe Lambert (Norfolk Premier Golf) with amateurs Toby Briggs, Tom Chapman and Soney Williams won the team event with a score of 14-under par 130. Runners-up with 133 were Lythgoe, club captain Ady Myhill, Marcel Arrend and Dominic Arrend.
Third place on 135 went to Steven Barnes (Marriott Sprowston), Aaron Stuttard, Tony Mann and Ian Harvey.
