David Griffiths (Oxhey Park) began with a bogey but finished with a flourish to land The Grove Pro-Am.
The former European Tour player dropped a stroke at his opening hole, the par-4 10th. However, that was his only blemish in an otherwise excellent three-under-par round.
Griffiths, 35, had previously produced a string of decent performances in his first season on the PGA in England (East) circuit without managing a win.
But that all changed thanks to a round of 69 that left him two clear of the runner-up James Jankowski.
Griffiths got back to level par after his fourth hole before stepping on the gas on his back nine. He made three birdies on his inward stretch, including the only two of the day at the par-3 seventh hole.
Jankowski has been a model of consistency this season and his one-under 71 was another solid effort. George Fleet (Hartsbourne) and Michael Moore (pinner Hill) shared third after shooting respective rounds of 72.
