Peter Hanna carded a two under par 68 to win the Belvoir Park Pro-Am sponsored by Deep River Rock.
In sun-drenched conditions, the Lurgan GC professional finished two shots ahead of Gary Wardlow (American Golf) and three shots ahead of John Kelly (St Margarets Golf &CC).
“I think that it is about 15 years ago when I won an event at Fintona,” recalled Hanna. “This was my first outing on the Irish Tour this year and, maybe, I should play more often after this success.
"I don't know where that performance came from, but I am delighted with it. The course was in great shape and the greens were fast. I was never renowned for being a good putter but I had only 24 puts on the greens and two just off the green."
Peter got off to a poor start, dropping shots at the 10th and 12th but bounced back with birdies at 13 and 14 to get back to level. He dropped another shot at the par five 15th and closed his opening nine holes with a birdie at the tough par four 18th to make the turn at level par 34.
A birdie at the first got him under par for the first time before another dropped shot followed at the 427yard par four third. He got under par with a birdie at the fifth, handed that shot back at the seventh before finishing his round in style with birdies at the eighth and ninth for a two under 34.
Also starting on the back nine, Wardlow dropped shots at the 10th and 18th to go to the turn in two over 36. He fought back over the back nine, collecting seven pars and adding two birdies at the fifth and ninth to complete a level par round of 70.
Massereene GC professional, David Hughes and amateurs Niall Brown, Michael Crawford and Martin King edged out home pro Michael McGivern for the team prize with 84pts.
