Hanson top man at Royal North Devon

Tiverton assistant Tom Hanson returned to form to win the sixth Devon PGA medal of the year at Royal North Devon with a five-under-par round of 67.
On probably the quickest greens the Devon players have enjoyed all season he putted beautifully and solid iron shots brought seven birdies and two bogeys.
Will Farley (Bovey Castle) was runner up one shot behind. He produced two consistent nines of two-under-par but missed out on first place when he dropped his final shot on the 18th.
Tom Jessamine (Exeter), Jessica Bradley (Tiverton) and Ryan Pope (Exeter) shared third on 70.
PGA in Devon captain Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge) extended his lead over Pope in the Order of Merit to more than 25 points with just four events remaining.
