Happy couple plot route to victory

Heather MacRae and boyfriend Chris Kelly dovetailed perfectly to take The PGA in Scotland Winter Fourball Competition at Montrose Links.

The pair, pictured after last year’s Titleist PGA Play-Offs, were the only mixed gender partnership in a 26-strong field. They shot a betterball 10-under-par 59 on their way to a one-shot win.

McRae (Gleneagles), winner of the Paul Lawrie Ladies Tartan Tour championship last year, provided the highlight of the round by holing her second shot for an eagle at the par-four second hole.

She and partner Kelly (unattached) finished ahead of second-placed Ian Anderson and Samuel Cairns.

Former Open champion Paul Lawrie (Carnegie Club) and former European Tour Rookie of the Year Scott Henderson (Kings Links) tied for third place on 61 with Christopher Currie (Caldwell) and Gary McFarlane, plus Stuart Morrison (Tain) and Alan Reid (West Lothian).
