Happy Hetherington

Paul Hetherington of Great Hadham Golf and Country Club was winner of the Mill Green Golf Club pro-am with a round of three under par 69 that included four birdies.

Runner-up with two-under-par was Midlands-based Simon Lilly from Wellingborough. The only others under par were Stuart Brown of Orton Meadows and Daniel Coughlan of Wyke Green who had the only eagle on the day at the 506-yard 16th hole.

Steve Cipa of South Essex Golf Centre, who plays on the European Senior Tour, and Norfolk’s Ian Ellis from Costessey Park were joint fifth on level par.

The team prize stayed at Mill Green. Assistant Richard Stilwell with amateurs Hayden Smith, Ian Mitchell and Nick McCarthy were successful with 12-under-par 132.  Teams with Ben Cooper (Bishop’s Stortford) and Coughlan both had 134.
