Brett Taylor (Rivenhall Oaks Golf Centre) enjoyed his return to former Chelmsford, landing its renowned charity pro-am.
Taylor, who was once an assistant PGA Professional at the Essex venue, shot a three-under round of 65 to win by one.
He traded two birdies for two bogies to turn for home in level par. But Taylor delivered a high-class back-nine, picking up strokes at 10 and 11 before notching a birdie three on 16.
Mark Talbott (Thorpe Hall) and James Webber (Three Rivers Golf &
Country Club) finished a shot back, while James Scade (Little Channels Golf Centre) and Glen Portelli (Old Fold Manor) shot one-under to tie for fourth.
Also last week, Will Harrold secured a narrow victory in the Great Yarmouth and Caister Pro-Am. He fired a two-under round of 68 to edge Neil Mitchell (Ipswich Golf Centre) by a stroke. Stuart Brown (Thorpe Wood) and Andy Pestell (Chelmsford) shared third spot on level-par.
