Richard Dinsdale returned from the Turkey sunshine to win the final South Wales PGA medal of the year with a four-under-par at Machynys Peninsular.

He helped the Wales trio into third place at Old Course at Gloria Golf Club in the Turkish resort of Belek, in the European Team Championship and then continued his impeccable form by carding a blemish-free 68 with birdies on the first, third, eighth and 18th playing alongside amateur Paul Williams, his sponsor at Asbury Golf.

Joe Ferguson (Celtic Manor) followed his win in the previous event at Radyr with second place two shots behind to retain his lead in the Order of Merit.

It was a real mixed bag of a round containing six birdies – three on the way home – a double bogey at the fourth and two other bogeys.

Neath’s Craig Melding took the assistants’ award with third place on one-under 71, shared with unattached Paul Harris, Christian Askins (Radyr) and Matt Dearden, soon to be a new Cardiff assistant, who finished in semi-darkness.

Chris O’Neill (Valleys Golf) won the better ball with amateur Luke Lloyd who produced a card of nine-under 63.
