Jack Harrison narrowly missed out on adding the Australian equivalent of the PGA Assistants’ Championship to his collection.
The Galvin Green champion was beaten in a sudden death play-off in the PGA National Futures Championship at Ballarat Golf Club.
It proved a nailbiting affair before Harrison saw a three foot putt slide past the hole to lose out to Ryan Laird on the fourth extra hole.
Harrison from Wildwood Golf & Country Club, had birdied 18 to make the play-off with Laird and overnight leader Deyen Lawson.
The trio were all tied at a one under total of 287 for the $55,000 event with Harrison compiling rounds of 70, 69, 76 and 72.
The 24 year old's level par final round of 72 compared to a 74 for Laird and a 77 for Lawson.
Harrison earned an invite to the Australian event on the back of winning the PGA Assistants' Championship at Coventry Golf Club back in August.
His victory at Coventry has also secured him a place in the PGA Play-Offs in Turkey at the end of November.
