Hendriksen extends OOM lead

Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge) and Richard Woods (Dainton Park) shared the Devon PGA medal at Teignmouth with three-under-par rounds of 66 as the only players to finish under par.

Woods started quickly with birdies on the first two holes and followed with another birdie on the ninth. His only bogey came on the 13th but her recovered with his final gain on the 16th.

Hendriksen made a slow start, however, and was one-over-par at the turn. But he returned in style, making two of his five birdies on the final two holes and was back in 30 shots.

This enabled him to extend his lead extend his lead over Ryan  Pope (Exeter G&CC) in the Order of Merit to 25 points with six events remaining.

Kevin Harper (East Devon,) Matt Curnoe (Churston,) James Urquhart (Torquay,) David Sheppard (Dave Sheppard Golf) and Harry Mayers (Torbay Driving Range) shared third on level par 69.
